It's a Book

Smith, L. (2010). It’s a book. New York, NY: Roaring Brook Press.

This is a picture book all about traditional books and how they are different from today's digital age of technological devices. As the ape reads a book, his friend, the donkey, keeps asking if he can text with it, blog with, scroll down, if it needs a password, etc. to which the ape keeps answering, "no, it's a book!" By the end, the donkey asks to borrow it, promising to charge it up when he's done.

I think this is a fun read for the children growing up today with all the modern technology available to them. It shows how something as comparatively simple as a book is still relevant and still fun to read.
