My New Friend Is So Fun!

Fans of Mo Willems, this book does not disappoint! It has all the popular characters: Elephant, Piggie, Snake, and Brian Bat. It begins with Elephant greeting his friend Snake and asking him if he's seen Elephant's best friend, Piggie. Snake says Piggie just met Brian Bat (who also happens to be Snake's best friend) and they are playing together. The conversation quickly turns to them both starting to panic that their best friends have now found new friends and will forget all about them. As they begin to worry and think the worst, Piggie and Brian Bat show up with a surprise. Will they find a way to all be friends together?

I am a big fan of Mo Willems, so of course I love this book, too. It is a great way to teach dialogue in books using speech bubbles. It is also a good tool in getting young children to talk about their feelings when their friends make new friends. Great for early readers!
